Pune or Punyanagri as it is called is one of the historical cities of India with a glorious past, an innovative present and a promising future. Pune has been known by a plethora of sobriquets. Popular amongst them: Queen of the Deccan, Cultural Capital of Maharashtra, Pensioner’s Paradise and Oxford of the East.
In last few years, Pune has witness unprecedented growth but its current infrastructure is struggling very hard to cope with it. Moreover to fulfill growing aspirations and foresee needs for the future we require visionaries working for Pune.
I dream of Pune as one of the finest cities in India which attracts best of the talent. I wish to see Pune a leader in Education, Infrastructure, Public Health, Social Sector as well as on Environmental Awareness. To make this dream come true, I am working tirelessly since last 20 years with a very positive and development oriented approach. As member of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), I have championed various developmental issues like ——–Metro-rail, Preserving Biodiversity, Clean Mula-Mutha river etc for Pune.
With internet era dominating, I have decided to take a step further and through this web-portal, I will attempt direct dialogue with Puneites on various problems and developmental issues of Pune. I plan to write blogs and actively discuss issues indept here and seek opinion and support from you all. I request and welcome all elite netizes of Pune to come forward and participate with us in this mission.
I also take this opportunity to assure Puneites that Prof. Vikas Mathkari will never be a part of problem but will always be the part of a solution.
